I recommend using these sparingly, creating lots of value into playing tug with you. Click here for the Tug-E-Nuff play guide. Once your dog really values this toy, and playing tug with you; you can use it to reward them for good behaviour such as recall and even teach new skills

Have a look on their website and choose the one your dog is most likely to value! I find that the "WonderBaa" and "Faux Fur Squeaky Chaser" are popular with most puppies and dogs

I have tried and tested many types of harness on my own dogs, and seen numerous in use on clients dogs. In my opinion nothing comes close to these, which is why I became an approved fitter for these harnesses in 2019 and have been using them on my own dogs for over 15 years

The perfect fit harness comes with a D-ring on the back, but also on the chest. This can be used to separate your loose-lead training to real life walks, or to reduce the strength of pulling.

One of the biggest reasons I recommend these for puppies; is that we need to get puppies out & about to experience the world before they have learned not to pull on the lead. Working intensely on pulling when puppies are overwhelmed and too excited can be counter-productive and reduce their potential to develop confidence. By using a comfortable Y-front style harness you can reduce discomfort, risk of injury and risk of developing negative associations to the environment. You can then teach your puppy to walk on a loose lead using their collar if you like; at a rate your puppy is able to learn

Fittings take place either before or after my classes, this will depend where I'm teaching, on what days and how many classes I have so please get in contact if you'd like to arrange a fitting. Snuffle mats, snuffle balls & tugs

If you've been to me for training you've probably seen my snuffle mat!

Snuffle mats have so many uses (that I won't bore you with here!) but can be particularly helpful when you have a young puppy and need to help them be calmer for short periods of time by giving them something non-frustrating and sniffy to do

Fellow Puppy School tutor Vickie at "The Doghouse FIT, TRAIN, FUN" makes brilliant quality snuffle mats, along with fleeces tug toys and snuffle balls

Toys like these; especially snuffle mats are time consuming to make and their quality cannot be matched by mass produced ones

These are the same chews that I use in classes but they are larger in size and sold by the kilo rather than quantity. In my opinion these suit most puppies and dogs better than the small 15cm ones (unless you have a very smell puppy or dog)

This lead is great value. It's soft, double ended so you can adjust the length up to 2m, and comes in two colours and widths depending on the size of your dog.

The large lead (2.5cm width) is recommended for dogs over 10kg

A 5 or 6 m long line is an important part of recall training, and teaching your puppy / dog to make better choices around distractions in open spaces

These are the same as the ones I use in classes. For dogs under 10kg the 20mm width is best but it's also fine for bigger dogs. For large or strong dogs it's best to go for the 25mm width so it's less harsh on your hands

This is a lightweight 2m line for household use to help manage puppy behaviour by prevention, so that you can encourage the behaviour you'd prefer. Ideal to leave trailing (supervised!) but pick up and redirect your pup if needed

I don't recommend using this as an outdoor long line for recall as it's very thin and not long enough
